Watch the Ride!

Many years ago I became aware of a burgeoning fashion collective in Birmingham. While I was always steeped in the BBoy tradition of late 80's, early 90's Levis, Wranglers, Adidas and Nike, some in the city that closed at 2.30am on the dot (personal bug bear), lent in a different direction. Any one remember Helga Skelta or Oasis and the mass of Russian insignia and quirky clothing? One guy in Birmingham that seemed to be ahead of the curve in many ways was Donovan, who went on to create and maintain a fashion label which took his surname, Love. I have to say there was a whole crowd of people involved in the original landscape and,having only ever orbited its close nit boundaries I know I missed out on a lot but, all is not lost. Having had a soul searching hiatus the Love brand (don't call it a come back) is again testing those boundaries. Over the coming weeks I'll be dropping information on where and when to pick the new line up and the back story on design from inception to inside leg.
